Hillhouse Avenue is famous for its nineteenth century mansions and landscape, including the president’s house at Yale. Hear of the street’s past residents and their prominent social, business and educational roles, including two US Presidents and important early scientists and philanthropists. Details of Yale’s preservation efforts will also be shared through historic photos. Join New Haven Preservation Trust member, Channing Harris, and stroll through this historic landscape.  The tour will start at the head of the Avenue, Hillhouse and Sachem Street intersection.
