Event description:
New Haven has a rich tapestry of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The New Haven Free Public Library will host a screening of the documentary “Unsung Heroes: the Music of Jazz in Haven,” produced and directed by Rebecca Abbott. The film’s co-writer, Wm. Frank Mitchell, public historian and curator of the Amistad Center for Art & Culture, will lead a conversation on the resources available at the public library and all around New Haven to learn about the community’s multi-faceted, dynamic heritage.
